Designs: Postcard Pack

This is the development of the pack. I'm not sure if we are mailing any of these so I've made some different variations. The collection will be mailed in an envelope. The third verison is to show it printed on cream stock. Also the last image is just to show the cover/back of the two pieces.

Designs: Postcard Collection

Here is the postcard collection development of the design. It is now landscape and the shapes are taken out.I've also made the final flap smaller since it doesn't serve any design purpose but to hold the cards together. If we want flaps on the side, we may want to print the back piece and 2 flaps (for the sides) onto another sheet and then glue it on (to save us on die cut costs).

Blog change

You might notice that the text size has increased. Winnie said it was hard to read before, so I've changed the font size to a larger one.

CD Case Mockup

Mock ups by CJ Graphics

Julie got these mock-ups done from Al at CJ Graphics. They were done as just a reference or example. Thought I'd post it for you to see. The mock-up is also made in the same paper as the invites, although I'm not sure if we are using that stock since it is rather pricey. So here is the mock up of the postcard collection and postcard pack.

Old Book Cover Comp

This is the jacket for the postcard stack. The thank-you note can go on the inside cover.

Postcard Collection

Here is a version of the postcard collection. I basically went from one idea and developed it. The wrap pieces, one side and another and the ideas for the booklet are shown here. Also, I've thought of two ideas for the postcard images, one is to use the images as is, and another is to crop them in sort of an abstract way, while still having some human element.

Postcard Pack

Here's 2 variations for one side, and then the other. The usable postcard can act as either the front or an additional fold-out. I've also changed a few things and added the photos as well.

Another change... say what???

Yes my lovely team, there are more changes... so here is the updated items. Basically, we are looking at the same design pieces, just different people of who they apply to. We will discuss this all during the meeting Tues, Mar 24, 8:00pm via msn. (this meeting is for the post-show team... there is a separate meeting for non-post-show crews in person on Wed, Mar 25, 3:30pm, York TEL lab 1...in case anyone else reads up on this...)

1) For staff at Steamwhistle, low level sponsors, lighting ppl, entertainment, caters, transportation ppl (basic level): Postcard Pack

2) For high level sponsors, external assessors, YSDN profs, speakers (industry ones): A Small Postcard Collection, Canvas or Paper Bags

3) For high level sponsors only: CD [that is meant as a medium to hold info regarding their sponsorship] or an extension of the website, and a thank you letter

4) For volunteers, and other basic aid/help/support : A 'thank you' e-mail form

So the items are postcard pack, postcard collection, paper/canvas bag, CD/web-based, thank you letter, e-mail thank you

These are the items, for sure (99.9%), and who they are given to may change.

Graphics poster idea

Amy asked me to post this mock-up that we did for graphics. Its a large "poster" with slits in it to hold postcards. The postcards would be special since they would be crops of a single image rather than the regular full image. The pieces would be fragmented and free for taking to promote our show. The cards would not only be branded, but have the same cream postcard face on the back.

Under the postcards would also be the brand. We were thinking of placing the full image in halftone over the entire board so that when all the cards are gone, you would be able to see the entire image from a distance.

Unfortunately due to space and postering constraints this idea is only feasible to use around the design labs.

2) Postcard Collection Comps

So here are some sketches and some comps I did quickly of some of the ideas I had. First one is over possible covers, second one is of the booklet cover, and the last is the wrap piece (partially and fully opened).

1) Postcard Pack

A sketch and a mock-up that I did based on the previous post. And I also tried using some of the imagery from our show to figure out some simply ideas/layout.

This is the front with the flap/back/postcard back which is all printed on one side.

This would be the inside of the piece with the postcard on the right (which will be perforated so you can use it as a real postcard).

Idea for postcard format

Here is a nice postcard piece I found. I think the format of it would work nicely for the family/friends pack we are thinking of doing.

Postcard package visual researching

Here are just some examples of postcard booklets/collections I found online/came across.
